As a quaternary medical center, the Ronald Reagan UCLA medical center is situated on the UCLA campus, adjacent to the world renowned research and teaching facilities of the Westwood campus. The medical center serves as the flagship hospital for UCLA as well as referral center for Los Angeles and southwest United States. Every floor of Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center is dedicated to a particular specialty and equipped with all of the necessary support equipment and supplies. Every floor has its own satellite pharmacy, dialysis storage, respiratory therapy workrooms, and resident doctor sleep rooms. In addition, each patient room has the capacity to convert into an intensive care unit (ICU) to allow for the continuous care of a critically ill patient in one room.

Our medical center features 520 inpatient bed, 25 operating rooms in addition to the IR and cath-lab suites. There are over 1,050,000 square feet of patient care areas and over 50,000 patients are seen through the emergency room alone each year. Our residents rotate through the general surgery and vascular surgery services here during all five years of training.

UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center

This 281-bed, full-service medical center provides the complete continuum of healthcare services, from prenatal and neonatal care to geriatric medicine, in a technologically advanced and welcoming facility. It combines the expertise of an academic medical center with the accessibility of a community hospital to offer patients the best of both medical worlds.

Residents rotate here on both the general surgery and vascular surgery services during their junior years. The rotation includes an open and endovascular experience in a community hospital setting.


Olive View

Olive View - UCLA Medical Center

Olive View – UCLA Medical Center is a 377-bed state-of-the-art hospital that serves much of the San Fernando Valley and the Antelope Valley, with out-patient clinics that provide primary care and hospital services for those whoneed specialty care or surgery.

This safety-net hospital is staffed by UCLA faculty and residents and provides a diverse experience in advanced pathology and disease. Residents rotate here on general surgery and vascular surgery rotations as junior residents with a unique level of responsibility and autonomy.

West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Hospital

A 500 bed facility, the West Los Angeles VA is the largest VA facility in California and the second largest west of the Mississippi. Trainees will serve here on both general surgery and vascular surgery services as junior residents. Three months of every year is spent here during the final two years of training, during which time chief residents are given responsibility for the inpatient service, outpatient clinic and OR scheduling. The facility features a full-time operating room and hybrid suite shared in conjunction with interventional radiology.
