Congenital Cardiac Surgery Fellowship

Thoracic Surgery Fellowships - Congenital Cardiac Surgery fellowship. UCLA Department of Surgery.Under the leadership of Reshma Biniwale, MD, UCLA offers a 1-year ACGME Accredited Congenital Cardiac Surgery Fellowship.  As one of only twelve elite training programs for congenital heart disease, UCLA’s heart surgery program is a major referral center for children with congenital or acquired heart disease.  Over 400 congenital heart surgeries are performed each year by our pediatric heart surgeons.  UCLA also has one of the largest pediatric heart transplant programs, including complex congenital transplant recipients and adolescent redo heart transplant. During this fellowship, surgeons can be exposed to patients from newborns to older adults with congenital heart disease.

As a fellow, you will take part in Morbidity and Mortality conferences once a week, attend journal clubs, and take part in the congenital teaching conference that has been provided by the Thoracic Surgical Directors Association, TSDA.  Following successful completion of this program, fellows will be board-eligible for Congenital Cardiac Surgery through the ABTS.

For more information, please contact Lorraine Hartman.
