History of CORELAB

The CORELAB at the Division of Cardiac Surgery at UCLA was established in 2012. While initially in the basement of an old chemistry lab, CORELAB is now located in the UCLA Center for Health Sciences and spans a number of scientific areas. The roots of the laboratory were based on computer simulation and cardiovascular modeling for educational purposes. However, the group has grown to over 10 investigators, most of whom are UCLA medical students. We are involved in a variety of projects from clinical outcomes to the design of sophisticated electronics for electrical recordings and growth of cardiac stem cells.
