UCLA Surgery faculty are distinguished by the breadth of their research interests and the caliber of their work. Numerous faculty are NIH grant recipients and nationally and internationally known for their research leadership. Faculty serve as mentors for UCLA general surgery residents and help develop their professional goals over the course of their training. From surgical oncology to cardiothoracic surgery, basic science to global health, there are endless opportunities for residents to find projects and guidance in whatever field they choose.
