At the UCLA Center for Obesity and Metabolic Health, we strive to educate not only our patients, but future professionals in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Through our rotation, students nationwide can receive around 100 elective rotation hours (4-5 weeks, 20-30 hours each week) for their Dietetic Internship. Please note that this rotation is only open to United States-based dietetic interns who have already been accepted to an internship program through the DICAS application process. Due to strict UCLA protocol, we cannot accept volunteers, other intern types or students for this rotation.
In this outpatient clinical rotation, interns will have the opportunity to work directly with dietitians, surgeons, nurse practitioners and other physicians to increase their knowledge and understanding of bariatric surgery and weight management.
Interns may have the opportunity to observe surgeries and will have the opportunity to shadow patients in the clinic. There will also be work-from-home opportunities.
