Our program is designed around the six core competencies established by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. These six areas serve as the central framework for training and evaluation of our residents.
The Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Board of Directors approved institutional standards for resident duty hours in February 2003, to be implemented by July 2003. Here at UCLA we have taken this charge very seriously. Resident well-being has been a priority not only for the program director, but also for the Dean of Graduate Medical Education.
The residents are asked to document work hours weekly on Medhub. Our residency remains in compliance with the ACGME work hour policy.
Extensive information on resident salary and benefits can be found at the UCLA Graduate Medical website.
A wide range of housing choices is available within a short commute. Residents are eligible to apply for university-sponsored housing, which includes options for married residents and those with children.
